You will need to register each of your MB Financial Bank issued debit and credit cards. There is no limit to how many cards you can register.

Each cardholder should register their own card separately and create their own MasterCard® SecureCode™.

The information you provide is verified against the information that MB Financial Bank has on file. This is done as a security precaution to be sure that the person registering is truly the cardholder. For further security, we also ask for the three-digit security code on the back of your card to be sure you have physical possession of the card that is being enrolled.

All of the information you provide is verified against the information that MB Financial Bank has on file. You are asked to enter the information again when you enroll a second card for your own protection. That way, MB Financial Bank can be sure the true cardholder is registering the card.

No. It is recommended that each MasterCard® debit or credit card should have its own SecureCode™ so it is protected individually.

You must select an alphanumeric password (between 6 and 10 characters, contains at least one alphabetical and one numerical character, and no spaces) for each card. The password should be different from your hint response and your Personal Greeting. We recommend that you select a SecureCode™ that will be easy for you to remember but difficult for others to guess.

The Personal Greeting is a message that you create during registration. Once you've completed your registration, each time you make an online purchase, a small window will pop up and ask you to enter your SecureCode™. In this window, you'll see your Personal Greeting. The Personal Greeting is your assurance that you are communicating with, and submitting your SecureCode™ to, MB Financial Bank. If the Personal Greeting displayed in the pop-up window is incorrect, you should not enter your SecureCode™, but should instead contact Customer Service immediately by calling the phone number on the back of your MasterCard® debit card.

The Signature Panel Code is the last three digits that appear on the back of your card next to the signature panel. We may ask this information as an extra security feature to be sure that you have physical possession of the card being registered.

If you have questions, or need assistance during the registration process, you should the contact the Customer Service number on the back of your card.

Yes, but you will not be asked for your SecureCode™ at these merchants. To complete your purchase, simply follow the traditional checkout process.

Not all merchants participate in MasterCard® SecureCode™. Here are a few reasons why the SecureCode™ pop-up window may not appear:

1. A merchant is not a MasterCard® SecureCode™ participant. In these situations you will not be prompted to enter your SecureCode™.

2. Your personal computer is blocking pop-ups. Please disable pop-up blocking when making a purchase at participating merchants.

When you use a card you have enrolled in MasterCard® SecureCode™ at participating online merchants, your MasterCard® card number is automatically recognized resulting in the pop up window that asks for your SecureCode™.

To view a list of all purchases made with your SecureCode™, log in to your SecureCode™ account, then click first on "Account Assistant" and then on "Transaction History". Please keep in mind that the Transaction History shows only those purchases made using your SecureCode™ and may include purchases that were declined or cancelled after you had already entered your SecureCode™.

You should return to the SecureCode™ website, click on the "Forgot your Password" link, and follow the subsequent instructions.

If the Personal Greeting is missing from the SecureCode™ request box, or if an incorrect Personal Greeting is displayed, you should not submit your SecureCode™, but should instead contact customer service at 1.888.422.6562.

When you enter your debit card number on the order form, the merchant sends an electronic message asking the MasterCard® directory whether or not your card is enrolled in the SecureCode™ program. If the answer is yes, the MasterCard® directory notifies MB Financial Bank that your card is being used online and MB Financial Bank then sends you the pop-up request for your SecureCode™ to be sure it's really you trying to use your card. This communication is directly between you and your issuer, without the merchant's involvement. Once you enter the correct SecureCode™, the merchant will send an authorization to MB Financial Bank, as they would for any purchase, and your purchase is completed.
Once you've registered and created a SecureCode™, each time you make an online purchase at a participating merchant, a window will pop up asking for your SecureCode™, like using a PIN at the ATM.
When you correctly enter your SecureCode™, you confirm that you are the authorized cardholder and your purchase is completed. If the correct code is not supplied, your MB Financial Bank cannot confirm your identity and so the purchase will not go through. No code, no confirmation, no purchase.
If your MasterCard® card is issued in the United States, then it would have zero liability as one of its features. But even if you already have this protection, MasterCard® SecureCode™ will save you from the hassle of disputing a charge that isn't yours, saving you time and aggravation. MasterCard® SecureCode™ provides added protection and peace of mind above and beyond zero liability.

You are asked to enter the information again when you enroll a second card for your own protection. All of the information you provide is checked against the information that MB Financial Bank has on file for you.
